between digital and regular billboards
The first main difference between digital boards and regular / static
boards has to do with shared space. With digital you share the ad space
with other advertisers as your ad is displayed in the sequence of advertisers
for a period of 6 to 8 seconds. With traditional
billboards, you are the only advertiser on the billboard face for
the entire duration of your display period — usually a minimum of
a month.
Does this make advertising on a digital billboard less
expensive since you are sharing the face with other rotating ads? Absolutely
not! Digital billboard advertising is new, in demand and in prime
locations — not a recipe for bargains. Expect the space to
be at a premium and allow us to negotiate on your behalf to get the best
pricing you can.

So why share space with other advertisers and pay a premium for the space?

Lower production costs
Because they are digital, there is no printing, shipping of vinyls and
installation to be done. Once the creative is finished it is simply
emailed for display across the network or to the specific location(s).
Your digital artwork remains digital and does not need to be printed on
the standard 14' x 48' vinyl needed for installation on static billboards.
Dayparting is available for the first time on
billboards
Need to advertise a breakfast special at 6am and a lunch special at noon?
No problem! We'll just update your file and change your ad. This
type of flexibility is one of digital's strongest features. Anything
from changing interest rates at banks to the ongoing promotions at retail
can be displayed and changed in front of your target audience.
Displaying across a network for deep reach into
a market
Instead of being tied to a single display, digital allows you to show
your ad (or changing ads!) across multiple locations and without the production

Bright displays
Digital displays are are illuminated from behind the image making them
easy to notice — especially at night. Most other billboard
displays are frontlit (lit from above or below the image).
